26th Birthday, and getting younger every day.
Younger than ever, I have reached age 26.
Initially terrified and frustrated at being on the heavy side of my twenties, I have never felt so ready for life. Now that I am here, my eyes are open. I have found that year after year the world, and life itself looks entirely new at every fresh glance. As I keep looking, I keep finding new faces, and more and more splendor keeps me saying “WOW!”. Every experience is different and more exciting than my last, and those first colors which introduced me to beauty years ago, I now see have matured and grown so far beyond my grasp that I constantly shrink in their splendor.
I have grown younger, and am now more excited, more ready, and more able than ever to seek the adventures behind the Sunrise.
I celebrated my birthday this year with a surprise visit with many of my very best friends: El Capitan, Half Dome, Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls, Yosemite Valley Meadow, a mountain sunrise, a fall breeze, winter chill, and long tree covered paths. My best love, Tommy, introduced me to some new “faces” too, but that story will be told another time. These are the places, and these are the times, that teach me about the life that I want to live. No matter where I am, no matter who I am, and no matter how many years have visited me and gone.
Yosemite Valley Surprise Birthday Trip: Age: 9,490 sunrises.
Pre-Sunrise frost. SOOO beautiful.
If you think waterfalls are beautiful, go one day and see what lies behind the falls… the most beautiful colors and rocks you may ever see.
(Crazy cool note: CHRIS SHARMA and Tommy Caldwell were IN Yosemite Valley WHILE we were there! We saw two of their portaledges half way up El Cap and their haul bags ready to go for them. Too cool 🙂 )
The End 🙂
