Amy & Grant / Christmas Wedding / Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Holly red flowers and bows, candle-light gold, elegant greens, and soft brass bells — this Christmas wedding will warm the hearts of the participants for years, and years. as I hope it warms yours!
What a delight for me to celebrate the union of these families during the holidays.
Here were some of the special highlights I remember vividly:
The warmth and elegance of the Christmas House Inn! If you are interested in vintage venues at all, please do check out this gorgeous house! The owners and staff are as pleasant as the lovely grounds, and well-decorated interior. I loved hearing guests arrive and exclaim, “Oh my! What a lovely home! Who lives here?”. (YOU DO! for the day) 🙂
Amy’s “girls” (bridesmaids) were the MOST fun. I’ve said it before, but will again — there is no greater time in life than that of a teenage, and I always value their perspective and approach to life. I loved watching them tease, play with, and enjoy Amy on her wedding day. I could tell that they infused a fresh sense of youth in her as they helped per prepare to see her groom. They helped all of us feel the emotion of that day like we would if it were played before us in a captivating performance.
Before some of the formal photos in the afternoon, I got to witness Grant showing “his boys” how to place cufflinks, and how to tie a Double Windsor tie. It was as sentimental as a group of guys can get, and full of humor. It may be that those “boys” will be tying their own ties for a wedding and a bride in just… so many years!
Best of all, was Grant’s “Welcome” and “Thank You” speech at the reception. Along with praising his bride, and relishing the night with its company and delights, he purposed an idea. Christmas doesn’t end with the end of December, he suggested, nor does it disappear at the exit of a party. Christmas doesn’t end if you’re continuing to rejoice in your family, in your friends, and in your vow to be dear to one another. Grant and Amy’s marriage, during the holidays, stands as a reminder that union lasts, and marriage makes the heart merry.
Thank you Grant for this reminder. I continue to cherish my own family today because of what your marriage with Amy stands for.
Thank you Amy, and your families together, for welcoming me into “your” home during Christmas. I was warmed and filled with laughter and fun.
The “Holidays” are Holidays because of the people around you, because of the Gift of Love — so check out (even now in January) Grant and Amy’s CHRISTMAS wedding!
