Life Glare – A Bright Wedding Day!
I have made many friends in my life, and have had the pleasure of attending, participating, and photographing many those friends’ weddings. But never until this particular Saturday had I done it all in reverse. Here I attended a wedding and participated with photography, and left having made two friends — the bride and groom.
There is nothing that I love more in life than meeting people who have an equal passion for outdoor adventuring as I do. It only took me about two minutes to discover this passion from the fellas and ladies in the wedding, and before long the discussions about rock climbing, backpacking, surfing, and hiking were on! This laid-back, long haired, surfer-style, lay-in-the-grass-in-suits, do-push-ups-in-a-dress type of people made me feel SO at home. And even though I was meeting the bride and groom for the first time (because I was assisting my good friend Juli Feller as the main photographer) I found myself steadying my racing heart at the bride’s entrance to meet her groom, whispering “amen” to ‘E-Rock’s’ theological gospel presentation, laughing aloud at the boisterous enthusiasm of the bride and groom’s vows, and dabbing my eyes from tears during the reception dances.
These two people glowed with love for life, and it showed in their love for all the attendants of their wedding.
Their incredible day had a luster of joy, laughter, depths, and grace. I believe I captured a bit of that glare, and interpreted it for you in its own unique art.
A special thanks to Juli Feller who invited me to enjoy a great day shooting for her. What a blast!
One of my favorite moments of the day: Not immediately knowing if the “I do” question was fully asked yet, she delayed in response…when she realized it her enthusiasm overflowed with an “OH YEAH yes I definitely do!” 🙂 made my day :).
You may find it odd, but this is my favorite image of the day.
